Job summary

Vibrint seeks a System Administrator to support multi-vendor HPC servers and clusters on a mission-critical program. The role emphasizes configuring Linux/Unix systems, troubleshooting IT environments, and providing Tier 1/2 support to enable enhanced HPC capabilities.

The position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph, US citizenship, and a strong background in HPC architecture, high-speed networks, and DoD-compliant IT practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install.
• Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible.
• Proven troubleshooting skills – each system is slightly different and there’s no “one fix” for a particular problem.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; DoD 8570 IAT II level certification.
• Minimum three (3) years of demonstratable system administration experience or eight (8) years minimum experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
