Job summary

RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES in Greenville, SC is seeking an experienced HPC Storage & Data Management Engineer to design, administer, and optimize storage within an enterprise-scale, AWS-based HPC platform. The role collaborates with infrastructure and digital technology teams to support global engineering simulation users.

You will manage storage architecture, quotas, ACLs, data lifecycle, archival standards, and AI/ML readiness, ensuring scalable, cost-effective storage that meets performance

Qualifications

• Experience administering HPC storage in production.
• Experience with quota management systems and storage capacity planning.
• Expertise in high-performance file systems (Lustre, GPFS Spectrum Scale, BeeGFS, WekaIO).
• Proficiency in storage tiering and archival tooling.
• Strong NFS/SMB/ACL management.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize storage architectures for HPC environments.
• Manage user and project quotas and forecast capacity.
• Control Linux ACLs and Windows permissions across NFS/SMB.
• Provide cost visibility and reporting in AWS.
• Define policies for active, scratch, cold, and archived data.
• Develop archival standards for engineering data.
• Establish folder structures and SOPs; communicate guidelines.
• Support AI/ML readiness through accessible data.
