Job summary

The HPC Storage & Data Management Engineer role at Lancesoft is based in Greenville, SC, supporting a large-scale AWS-based HPC platform. You will design, administer, and optimize storage environments for approximately 1,500 global users involved in engineering simulations across Gas Power and related business units.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to develop and document standard operating procedures.
• Experience in HPC storage administration in production environments.
• Experience with quota management systems and storage capacity planning.
• Proficiency with HPC parallel/distributed file systems (Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS, etc.).
• Experience with storage tiering, data lifecycle management, and archival tooling.
• Strong Linux systems administration skills.
• Experience with NFS and SMB/CIFS dual permission/ACL management.

Responsibilities

• Storage Architecture & Optimization: manage HPC storage topology and performance.
• Quota & Capacity Management: enforce quotas and forecast capacity.
• Dual-Protocol File Permission Management: ACLs across NFS/SMB for Linux and Windows users.
• Cost Visibility & Reporting: benchmark and report storage spend in AWS.
• Data Lifecycle Management: implement lifecycle policies and automated tiering.
• Archiving & Retention Strategy: define archival standards across engineering data.
• Collaborative Storage Governance: coordinate folder structures and standard work.
• AI Readiness Enablement: support data standards for AI/ML workloads.
