Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is recruiting a HPC Network Engineer to design, deploy and support high-performance Ethernet and RoCEv2 data centre networks in a flexible US location. You will shape connectivity for HPC/GPU infrastructure within a lean engineering team, contributing to ongoing data centre expansion and dedicated operations.

The role emphasizes ownership of network design, deployment and troubleshooting, with an automation mindset and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Hands-on BGP, Ethernet and RoCEv2 networking experience.
• Experience in at least two areas: network design, deployment and operations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of networks beneath management tools.
• Automation mindset; not required to be a software developer.
• Ability to own technical problems and work independently.
• Optics experience desirable: transceiver diagnostics and EEPROM data interpretation.

Job Title: HPC Network Engineer | High-Performance Infrastructure

Location: New York or Chicago preferred | Other US locations considered (Flexible work arrangements)

Salary: Up to $800,000 TC (Depending on experience)

Do you want to join a global quantitative trading firm expanding the high-performance infrastructure behind its research and computing platforms.

You’ll join a lean engineering team with ownership across network architecture, deployment and operations. With a long-term data centre expansion programme underway, you’ll help shape how large-scale infrastructure is designed, built and supported.
