Job summary

Viridien seeks an experienced HPC Data Center Linux IT Specialist to bolster our global HPC and Digital Platform teams. You will administer Linux-based storage systems, manage SLURM queues, and improve operations through automation and documentation.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to meet security, privacy, and ITIL change standards. You will mentor peers, respond to complex incidents, and keep systems aligned with evolving technology trends in a hybrid Houston

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, CE or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years Linux administration, ideally in HPC environments.
• Experience deploying and administering data storage systems.
• Proficient in automation/configuration management tooling and scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud services, containers, and ITIL change control.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and repair Linux-based hardware and software.
• Manage SLURM queues, schedule upgrades, and ensure security/compliance.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Provide expert-level support and mentoring to junior team members.
• Monitor systems, analyze logs, and automate improvements.
