Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a mid-career Systems Engineer specializing in HPC and GPU infrastructure to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters for Intelligence Community customers. This is a 100% on-site position at the customer site in Bethesda, Maryland.

Responsibilities include deploying GPU/HPC hardware, tuning Linux systems, and implementing Slurm/PBS, Airflow, and Kubernetes while maintaining documentation and staying current with industry advances.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of systems engineering experience or equivalent.
• Expertise with Linux OS integration and hardware architecture.
• Strong understanding of parallel computing, graphics algorithms, and real-time rendering.
• Proficient in Python or Bash scripting.
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Terraform).
• US Citizenship with DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III certification or equivalent.
• Ability to work on-site at customer location in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize GPU and HPC clusters for IC customers.
• Install and maintain on-prem and cloud GPU/HPC hardware and software.
• Analyze cluster performance and mitigate bottlenecks across Linux apps.
• Install/configure Slurm, PBS, Apache Airflow, and Kubernetes.
• Apply power-management techniques to GPUs on Linux platforms.
• Develop Linux GPU tests, run benchmarks, and extend test suites.
• Create architecture docs and Linux best-practice references.
• Stay current with GPU industry trends and propose Linux-based optimizations.
• Share regular technical updates with the team.
