Job summary

Mount Sinai's MSSM Scientific Computing Group seeks an Associate Computational Scientist to help scientists and researchers effectively use MSSM HPC clusters and to deploy codes on new technologies.

You will partner with researchers to optimize computational workflows, explore GPUs, Hadoop, cloud computing, and integrate HPC resources with lab equipment, while documenting processes and contributing to proposals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in a domain science; Ph.D. preferred.
• Beginner level, with some experience in a scientific/academic computing environment or equivalent preferred.
• Experience identifying, implementing and improving computational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists to help them effectively use MSSM HPC clusters.
• Assist in deployment of codes on GPUs, Hadoop and cloud computing platforms.
• Benchmark application codes and develop regression tests.
• Assist in installing and managing numerical libraries and performance tools.
• Contribute to backup policy development and integration with lab equipment.
• Develop clear documentation and write proposals for MSSM researchers.
