Job summary

Autonomai Recruitment in New York is seeking an HPC Data Center Developer to build software and automation for large-scale compute infrastructure. You will own production systems covering hardware provisioning, monitoring, capacity planning and failure simulation, writing substantial code and collaborating with HPC engineering and operations teams.

You’ll work on automating provisioning, integrating telemetry, and building dashboards, with a focus on reliability and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure software development, production engineering, automation or SRE in HPC or large-scale data centers.
• Proven track record shipping reliable, maintainable production tooling.
• Strong programming skills in Go and Python or comparable infra development experience.
• Deep Linux knowledge: networking, storage, system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience automating hardware provisioning with Redfish, IPMI/BMC, SNMP or vendor APIs.
• Understanding of data center power, cooling and physical infrastructure.
• Experience with observability platforms like Grafana/Prometheus/InfluxDB and IaC tools.
• Strong networking fundamentals and API/infrastructure metrics integration.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end hardware provisioning workflows across servers, switches, power and cooling.
• Develop tools to model power and cooling capacity and forecast demand.
• Create failure simulation tooling to test outages and resilience.
• Integrate hardware telemetry and external data feeds into central monitoring platforms with dashboards and alerts.
• Automate hardware lifecycle tracking, inventory, diagnostics and workflows.
• Own reliability and ongoing development of the systems you build.
• Use AI development tools daily to support coding, debugging, analysis and documentation.
