Jump Trading Group in Chicago or New York is seeking an HPC Data Center Production Engineer to design and own automation for onboarding hardware and lifecycle management. You will build tools for capacity planning, outage simulation, and observability, partnering with HPC Planning, Engineering, and Operations to deliver production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in production engineering, infrastructure automation, or site reliability engineering, preferably in HPC or large-scale data-center environments.
• Proven track record of building and shipping production automation and tooling that is maintained and reliable.
• Experience automating hardware provisioning and lifecycle management for servers, network devices, and power/cooling infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data-center infrastructure: power distribution, cooling systems, environmental monitoring, and structured cabling.
• Experience integrating with hardware management interfaces for discovery, configuration, and telemetry collection.
• Result-driven, high-energy professional able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and predictable availability, including ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hardware onboarding automation from racked hardware to production-ready state with minimal manual intervention.
• Data center tooling for power/cooling capacity planning, outage simulation, and hardware lifecycle tracking.
• Monitoring and metrics integration using centralized observability platforms.
• Cross-team collaboration with HPC Planning, Engineering, and Operations to translate tooling needs into production-ready systems.
• Systems maintenance and reliability, incident response, and comprehensive documentation.
• AI-driven development to accelerate coding, debugging, and analytics for data-center operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or needed.
