Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an Infrastructure & Cluster Engineer to oversee the admin and performance of a dedicated compute cluster under the UDS contract in Springfield, VA.

You will ensure a highly available, secure platform for complex workloads, with exposure to InfiniBand and OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments. You will manage Linux systems, patching, and upgrades while optimizing resource utilization, storage, and network fabrics.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly eligibility.
• 5+ years of Linux administration and infra in HPC environments.
• Location Springfield, VA.
• Experience with Run:AI, SLURM, OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Automation with Bash and Python.

Responsibilities

• Cluster administration and Linux OS management for the customer compute cluster.
• Configure workload management and AI orchestration to run AI/ML workloads.
• Optimize hardware, OS, and network performance for throughput.
• Manage storage and high-speed networking (InfiniBand).
• Provision environments and container platforms (OpenShift) for deployments.
• Maintain security and federal compliance accreditations.
