Job Description

As a Product Manager, you will design, plan, develop, and manage a portfolio of advanced liquid cooling and power distribution solutions throughout the product lifecycle—from new product definition and enhancements to planning, design, forecasting, production, and end of life.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive the end‑to‑end strategy and operational product roadmap for liquid cooling and power distribution solutions (Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHX), ARCS rack, DLC cold plates, CDUs, PDUs, rack manifolds).
  • Define the value proposition, target customer segments, and business case to bring innovative and disruptive power & cooling products to market aligned with HPE’s HPC & AI portfolio.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and operations to translate market requirements into clear product requirements, features, and specifications; drive development from concept to launch, meeting quality standards and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and multi‑horizon roadmap; provide state‑of‑the‑union assessments covering past technologies, future planning, competitors, and vendor landscape.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, regulatory and sustainability requirements; convert insights into product development priorities and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Represent HPE’s liquid cooling and power capabilities at industry forums, trade shows, and customer events; deliver customer‑facing presentations and technical enablement for sales and presales teams.
  • Create collateral, including performance charts/curves, technical documentation, TCO models, and positioning content; partner with Marketing on messaging and launch deliverables.
  • Collaborate across the value chain (Engineering, Supply Chain, Services, Finance, Marketing, GTM) to optimize margins, SKU strategy, inventory, pricing, and portfolio health across the lifecycle (plan, develop, launch, manage, exit).
  • Own portfolio quality and reliability objectives (validation plans, qualification criteria, field performance monitoring) and drive continuous improvement with vendors/ODMs and internal teams.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to support strategic deals, reference architectures, and solution sizing for HPC/AI workloads; act as the technical product evangelist for power & cooling.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of product management experience in data center cooling, power systems, or HPC environments, including ownership of strategy, roadmap, and launches.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of liquid cooling technologies (direct liquid cooling, CDUs, manifolds), heat transfer/thermal management, and power distribution for HPC/AI systems.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Expert ability to develop product strategy and lead cross‑functional teams through complex, ambiguous programs; strong stakeholder management and influence skills.
  • Expert skills in cost‑efficient solution design, portfolio margin optimization, pricing, and financial performance analysis (P&L ownership, ROI, attach rate).
  • Strong business acumen with proficiency in root cause analysis, risk management, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex thermal/power concepts to technical and executive audiences; capable of delivering product‑specific technical training.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a bias for action; adept at prioritization and execution across multiple programs.
  • Familiarity with sustainability metrics and standards relevant to data centers (e.g., energy efficiency KPIs).
