Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Minnesota) seeks an experienced HPC Performance Engineer to benchmark, profile, and tune HPC and AI applications. You will resolve engineering issues, provide technical benchmarking support, and collaborate with product teams to influence capabilities and directions.

The role requires deep knowledge of multiprocessor/GPU architectures, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, HIP, and HPC benchmarks, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in CS, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience with high-end HPC systems and performance analysis/tuning of scalable HPC applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mastery of English required.
• Experience with large-scale HPC systems and software preferred.
• Experience with large-scale AI systems and software preferred.
• Understanding of multiprocessor and GPU architectures; OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, HIP.
• Proficiency with HPC benchmarks (HPL, HPCG, OSU MPI, NCCL/RCCL) on CPUs/GPUs preferred.
• Experience with performance projection methodologies using measurement tools preferred.
• U.S. citizenship or qualifying residency status required.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark, profile, and tune HPC and AI applications across the portfolio.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve engineering and customer issues.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical and benchmarking support for HPC/AI opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and marketing to influence capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess impact on product differentiation.
• Maintain knowledge of HPC/AI products and performance techniques.
• Lead application-focused performance studies and projects.
• Author technical reports and papers communicating findings.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on HPC/AI innovation
