Zusammenfassung

VHC Health in Arlington, VA seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join its hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery team. The role provides evaluation, treatment planning, perioperative management, and longitudinal follow-up for complex surgical patients.

The APP will participate in clinic visits, inpatient rounds, and multidisciplinary coordination, while educating patients and families about diagnoses and recovery. A strong team and modern oncology infrastructure support high-quality care.

Qualifikationen

• NP graduate degree from an accredited NP program.
• Current Virginia NP licensure or eligibility prior to employment.
• RN licensure and national certification appropriate to patient population.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Prescriptive authority and DEA registration where applicable.
• Must meet credentialing and privileging requirements.

Aufgaben

• Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up evaluations with histories and physical exams.
• Assess surgical readiness and develop treatment plans with HPB surgeons.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and tests within scope.
• Provide preoperative education and postoperative follow-up care.
• Participate in inpatient rounds, consultations, admissions, and discharge planning.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within scope.
• Support operative care, first assisting and bedside procedures as credentialed.
• Coordinate care with gastroenterology, medical and radiation oncology, interventional radiology, nutrition, nursing and other specialists.
• Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, plans, recovery, and ongoing care.
