Job summary

TriMas Company LLC in Longview, TX is hiring a HP Toolperson 1st & 2nd shift at $17-$23 DOE. This on-site, full-time hourly role supports production, inspection and distribution activities in a manufacturing setting.

The position requires ability to perform tool changeovers, operate cranes, and carry out quality checks in line with ISO policies. Overtime and training for higher-level plant work are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents related to the job, function or assignment.
• Basic math skills for in-process measurements.
• Ability to work with safety policies and ISO procedures.
• Flexibility to perform varying tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform changeover of tooling for forge and drawbench.
• Work as part of a team to efficiently perform tool changeover.
• Operate crane and hoists for heavy lifting.
• Willingness to work overtime and in a dirty environment.
• Perform gas cuts using plasma cutter.
• Perform checks from buffing to determine acceptability.
• Be trained for Billet Saw, Press and Spin in the High Pressure Plant.
• Conduct side wall checks on cylinders.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE: To perform a variety of operational functions that constitutes the production, inspection and distribution of products or services for our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
• Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Complies with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.
• Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
• Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive work environment with co-workers.
• Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
• Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
• Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
• Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience, Competencies and Education Must posses an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
• Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
• Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• Reasoning Ability Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems. Ability to deal with a variety job assignments.
