Job summary

Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston seeks a Corporate Associate (Class of 2020–2023) to join our market‑leading Corporate practice. The ideal candidate will have broad corporate transactional experience, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital markets, SEC reporting, and general corporate counseling.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross‑border transactions as part of a collaborative deal team with partners and senior associates.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academics.
  • 2–6 years of corporate transactional experience.
  • Experience with securities laws, equity and debt offerings, and capital markets transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support capital markets transactions, including public and private securities offerings and related compliance matters.
  • Assist with SEC reporting and disclosure obligations for public company clients.
  • Contribute to a range of corporate transactions and general corporate matters as part of a collaborative deal team.
  • Work closely with partners and senior associates to deliver practical, business‑focused legal advice.
  • Advise clients on day‑to‑day corporate governance and related corporate matters.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Class of 2019–2024 with 2–6 years of corporate transactional experience.
  • Experience with securities laws, equity and debt offerings and capital markets transactions representing public companies and/or underwriters.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Admission to practice in Texas (or eligibility to waive in).
