Job summary

Arise Elevators in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time Elevator Technician to maintain, repair, and modernize commercial elevator equipment across multiple brands. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and reliability in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

You will collaborate with contractors and building managers on modernization projects while communicating clearly with customers and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in the elevator industry.
• Proficient in maintenance and repair of commercial elevator systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, control, and safety-system issues.
• Strong understanding of electrical components relevant to elevator operation and control systems.
• Current Texas elevator mechanic license, or equivalent trade certification, preferred.
• Experience with major brands (Otis, Schindler, Kone, ThyssenKrupp, etc.) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of applicable safety codes, regulations, and industry standards for elevator installation and service.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Reliable on-site presence in Houston, TX, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations within the Houston area.
• Effective communication skills and capacity to work independently or in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial elevator equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs.
• Document all work in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Respond to service calls, including urgent and after-hours requests.
• Collaborate with general contractors and building managers on modernization projects and new installations.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide accurate status updates.
