Job summary

Elevated. is seeking a skilled elevator technician in Houston to perform complex maintenance, servicing, repair and troubleshooting of elevators and related equipment.

The role requires hands-on expertise and on-site problem solving to keep systems compliant and safe. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues in electric, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, executing preventive maintenance and annual safety tests, and evaluating equipment for upgrades or modifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License.
• Minimum 3 years Elevator Experience.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of hand and electrical tools such as grinders, drill motors and coring machines.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, chain tackles, etc.
• Physical requirements include climbing, crawling, lifting up to 50 pounds, occasional 200-pound lifts, and working from ladders/scaffolding.
• Must be able to work on an on-call basis in emergencies.
• Work environment may be dusty and dirty, with temperatures over 100 and oily/greasy conditions.

Responsibilities

• Investigates problems of electric, mechanical and/or hydraulic nature related to elevators and related equipment, determines problems and makes repairs.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and inspections on a scheduled basis to ensure safe operation according to regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Performs annual tests to ensure proper operation of safety devices.
• Assists in determining suitability of current equipment, proposed modifications and new equipment.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein, not exhaustive.
