AMS Staffing Inc. is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 2-4 years’ experience to join our Houston office in the Memorial area. You will handle complex business disputes in a fast-paced environment.

We value strong writing and oral advocacy, experience with depositions, motions, and trial preparation, and the ability to work independently and within a team. JD with writing sample required; Texas bar in good standing preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school is required.
• Active Texas bar membership in good standing is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to handle complex commercial litigation matters with precision.

Responsibilities

• Lead advocacy as lead counsel in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Manage complex commercial litigation cases including contract, governance, IP, M&A, securities, and antitrust issues.
• Conduct thorough legal research to identify precedents and best practices.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and related filings.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to corporate clients on risk and dispute resolution.
• Negotiate settlements to resolve disputes without trial when appropriate.
• Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients; supervise junior team members.
• Oversee case management from pre-trial to post-trial procedures.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Active Texas bar membership in good standing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage high-stakes litigation
