Family Housing Services in Nevada is seeking a Housing Supervisor to lead program staff in managing rental assistance workflows, data accuracy, and client services within housing programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in social services and case management.
  • Must have a valid NV driver’s license and clean DMV record.
  • Must pass background and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and supervision to program staff in housing programs.
  • Supervise the rental assistance process with client engagement and fund disbursement.
  • Develop employee goals to improve development and quality of care.
  • Meet or call clients with the Case Manager to resolve issues.
  • Provide training on files, procedures, and service requests for new hires.
  • Review reports and audits for data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Engage in community meetings to support housing problem solving.
  • Verify housing rental requests for compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain safe community relations with neighbors and providers.
  • Present program information to community agencies on eligibility requirements.
  • Collaborate with referral services to communicate program needs.
  • Meet regularly with the Program Director on planning and staffing.
  • Share on-call supervisor duties with housing director; report to facility in emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Family Housing Services
Housing Supervisor
Hours: Monday – Thursday

Status: Full Time
Reports To: FHS Program Manager
Purpose:

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and supervision to program staff, and provide hands-on assistance, to assist them, in carrying out their assigned duties with the housing programs.
  • Responsible for supervising the entire rental assistance process with staff engagement with clients, including collection of required documents, submission of rental assistance application, client follow-up, and disbursement of funds
  • Prepare employee goals, to improve employee development and quality of care to customers, to include consumers, peers, and external community contacts.
  • Meet/Call clients who are having issues with their Case Manager.
  • Provide training on files, procedures, and service requests, for all new hires and direct reports.
  • Review reports compliance audits to ensure that all data is entered in true time (daily).
  • Attend various community meetings to support the housing problem solving and progressive engagement motto.
  • Verifies all housing rental requests are correct, compliant and free from errors.
  • Maintains a safe and positive community relationship, which includes public relations with neighbors and other providers.
  • Presents program information to community agencies regarding eligibility requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and positive community relationship, by working closely with referral services to communicate program needs and philosophy.
  • Meets regularly with the Program Director to monitor program content, community referrals, staffing issues, and overall planning and implementation of programs.
  • Will share the on-call supervisor responsibilities with the program director and housing supervisor. Will report to the facility, if necessary, when an emergency arises.
  • Other duties, as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of local social service agencies and programs, as they pertain to the local homeless or at-risk youth and family population.
  • Knowledge of applicable statutes and regulations
  • Knowledge of social service work, interviewing/referral techniques
  • Experience and understanding of homeless issues
  • Understand and follow complex instructions and procedures. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
  • Must communicate effectively with people from a variety of social, cultural, and economic populations.
  • Ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgment in crisis situations.
  • Must be flexible and be able to adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with consumers, fellow employees, other agencies, and the public
  • Organize work schedule and manage time
  • Understand and follow all agency policies and procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required by case load
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematical equations to calculate clients rent and utility costs, and request funding to pay those bills.
  • Professional competence in creating databases and working effectively using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
Qualifications, Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or High School Diploma with 4 years-experience, substantially equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, or combination of education and experience.
  • Professional experience, as required by education
  • Must have a valid NV driver’s license and clean DMV record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening.
