Job summary

EDEN Inc. seeks a Housing Specialist to support participants in housing subsidy programs by determining ongoing eligibility, answering questions about processes, and helping clients stay on the program for rental subsidy payments.

The role includes processing applications, recertifications, and coordinating with landlords, tenants, and case managers to ensure housing stability and timely payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Social Services or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of work experience with the Housing Choice Voucher program or other housing assistance program preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience working with the mental health population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes applications and approves based on income, disability, homeless status and linkage to supportive services.
• Ensures that clients approved for the program have located a unit within 120 days of approval.
• Completes and finalizes annual and interim recertifications and move recertifications with documentation.
• Uses basic math to analyze paystubs and Social Security benefit letters.
• Ensures timely processing of household changes and documentation.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate's Degree in Social Services or related field

2-3 years of work experience with Housing Choice Voucher or housing assistance program

1-2 years of experience working with the mental health population
