Job summary

Native American Rehabilitation Assoc. of the NW is hiring a Housing Specialist for Powellhurst in Portland, OR.

This full-time, in-person role focuses on providing culturally informed housing support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, stabilizing housing, and advancing recovery paths. You will create individualized housing plans, assist with applications, and coordinate with partners to secure housing and services while documenting progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• QMHA credential required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience with homelessness or behavioral health needs is preferred.
• Ability to engage respectfully with clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop client-centered individualized housing stability plans.
• Guide participants through housing processes and applications.
• Coordinate with providers, consults, and property managers as needed.
• Provide home and community based engagement using Motivational Interviewing and Housing First.
• Build relationships with partners and support systems to prevent eviction.
• Document housing plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Complete program paperwork and manage client assistance funds.
