Job summary

IRCO is seeking a Housing Retention Specialist to support the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program. The role focuses on building trust with families, coordinating with landlords, and guiding clients toward permanent housing within Multnomah County’s system.

The position is hybrid and starts as a temporary assignment in late 2026. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 1–2 years of relevant experience, and strong intercultural communication skills to work with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years of work experience is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in a multilingual, multibackground team and organization.

Responsibilities

• Support program manager in meeting IRCO's Program Management Standards and engaging in continuous learning for program improvement.
• Assist in identifying eligible units and transportation for potential units.
• Outreach to landlord/property owners of potentially eligible units.
• Provide transportation assistance and directions to potential units.
• Assist families with rental applications, rental agreements, and other paperwork.
• Advocate with landlords to promote stability and expeditate leasing processes.
