Job summary

RH Community Builders is seeking a Housing Specialist to provide housing support and case management for program participants in Fresno, CA. The role requires mediating crises and coordinating resources to help households build tenancy skills and stable housing.

The candidate will gather documents, locate housing opportunities, and liaise between clients and landlords, conducting regular in-home visits and maintaining thorough files to ensure timely documentation and adherence to program

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in housing related social services.
• Knowledge of Coordinated Entry System.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Adherence to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
• Culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR Certification, First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services for client.
• Gather documents needed to secure housing.
• Locate housing opportunities in the community.
• Liaise between client and landlord on housing process and stability.
• Create action plan with client and conduct weekly in-home visits to monitor progress and offer solutions.
• Maintain appropriate client files and complete documentation within the required timeframe.
• Advocate for client’s voice and choice in housing process.
