Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 1 in the Lycoming-Clinton County MH/ID Unit to help individuals and families obtain stable housing and access resources. You will coordinate referrals, assess needs, and develop flexible housing plans while collaborating with a supportive team to drive real community results.

The role emphasizes hands-on client work, coordination with partners, and ongoing support to clients navigating housing and daily living challenges.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or equivalent paraprofessional case management, with relevant coursework.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology or criminal justice.
• Within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits, educational requirements will be considered met.

Responsibilities

• Referral Coordination: Gather information and meet with the consumer and referral source.
• Needs Assessment: Conduct initial assessments of housing and support needs.
• Support Planning: Develop housing plans addressing system navigation, emergency housing, rental assistance, and related needs.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in case reviews and resolve issues through a team-based approach.
• Housing Support: Guide case managers and support consumers transitioning to independent living.
• Financial Education: Provide budgeting and financial skills training to consumers.

Education

Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and two years of experience as County Social Services Aide 3

Equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits in social sciences and one year of paraprofessional case management experience
