Job summary

Activate Care seeks a Housing Stabilization Specialist to advocate for families and preserve tenancy across Massachusetts. Position requires on-site work at a housing hub and travel to client sites, with monthly outreach to families and landlords.

You will connect clients to medical resources, school support, and other services, document progress in ETO, and coordinate with case managers to ensure successful transitions to permanent housing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience providing intensive housing placement services preferred.
• English fluency required; Spanish fluency preferred.
• Massachusetts Driver's License and reliable transportation for travel within MA.
• Experience in Emergency & Family Shelters or housing navigation is preferred.
• Experience with individuals newly immigrated to the US is preferred.
• Must be highly organized and able to work independently or with supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills with staff and external partners.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office (including pivot tables, lookups).
• Diplomacy and ability to handle sensitive issues in housing contexts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct housing stabilization activities to preserve tenancy for families transitioning to permanent housing.
• Monthly outreach to families and landlords.
• Coordinate and mediate relationships between clients and landlords.
• Assist with medical resources and school progress connections.
• Document stabilization plans and progress in the ETO system.
• Collaborate with case managers and housing navigators for smooth transitions.
