Job summary

Bay Area Community Services is seeking a Training Coordinator for Housing Resource Centers to deliver on‑site, hands‑on training and onboarding, while ensuring HMIS data quality and compliance. This role acts as a subject‑matter expert for HRC service delivery and supports staff through coaching and certifications.

Must have HMIS proficiency, 3+ years in HRC or homeless services, and a Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years substitute).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; four (4) years housing/data experience may substitute.
  • Minimum three (3) years direct experience in HRC, Coordinated Entry, or homeless services.
  • Experience training or coaching staff preferred.
  • demonstrated HMIS proficiency required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Trains new and existing HRC staff and managers on service delivery and core competencies.
  • Provides in‑vivo on‑site training and coaching during actual service delivery.
  • Monitors HMIS data quality and timeliness; identifies gaps and retrains as needed.
  • Ensures onboarding trainings and certifications are completed on schedule; tracks ongoing training.
  • Trains program managers on HMIS oversight and staff coaching.
  • Keeps training content current with County/HMIS policy changes.

Job description

The Training Coordinator, Housing Resource Centers ("HRC") is a subject-matter expert on HRC service delivery and HMIS documentation standards, responsible for training new and existing HRC staff and managers. The Training Coordinator delivers training primarily through hands‑on, in‑vivo instruction alongside staff at HRC sites, as well as structured onboarding and ongoing training sessions. This is a coordinator‑level role focused on training delivery and compliance monitoring, without supervisory authority over program staff or strategic ownership of the agency's overall training system.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Trains new and existing HRC staff and managers on HRC service delivery, including Housing Problem Solving, Coordinated Entry, outreach, referrals, and related core competencies.
  • Provides in‑vivo (on‑site, real‑time) training and coaching during actual service delivery, correcting and reinforcing practice in the moment.
  • Serves as the organization's subject‑matter expert on HMIS documentation standards for HRC programs, training staff on accurate, timely, and compliant data entry.
  • Monitors HMIS data quality and timeliness, identifies gaps, and provides targeted retraining where needed.
  • Ensures new hires complete required onboarding trainings and certifications on schedule, and tracks staff completion of ongoing/annual training requirements.
  • Trains program managers on their role in HMIS oversight and staff coaching.
  • Stays current on County and HMIS policy changes and updates training content accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
