Job summary

City of Orlando Housing and Community Development seeks a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist to prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for rehabilitation projects. You will coordinate capital projects under HCD programs and provide oversight of community initiatives utilizing City funding.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree with construction cost estimating experience; fluency in regulatory standards and ability to obtain ICC certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree plus six months experience in residential building construction, including cost estimating and scope of work preparation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Background check including polygraph.
• ICC certification as Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector within six months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Scope of Work write-ups and cost estimates for rehabilitation projects.
• Coordinate and oversee Capital Projects under the City’s HCD housing programs.
• Work under the supervision of the HCD Program Manager and report as required.
