Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking an HDRS Specialist to ensure shelter and drop-in center safety, complete documentation, and report outcomes. The role focuses on de-escalation, relationship-based engagement, and connecting clients to stable housing through street outreach and low barrier services.

The position emphasizes inclusivity, cultural humility, and knowledge of housing programs. Non-exempt, 37.5 hours, with full benefits and a shift from Tue–Sat, 3pm–11pm, depending on program needs.

Qualifications

• Master's in Human Services or Bachelor's in Human Services with relevant homeless, crisis, or behavioral health experience; or an Associate's in Mental Health with 4 years of related service delivery; or High School diploma with 8 years of related experience.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen

Responsibilities

• Housing Placement: Facilitate housing options and coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing authorities.
• Recovery Support: Provide individualized support addressing underlying issues contributing to homelessness, including substance use, mental health, trauma.
• Case Management: Conduct assessments to identify needs and develop personalized housing and recovery plans; monitor progress and make referrals as needed.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of interactions and outcomes; prepare reports for funding sources and policies.
