Job summary

HELP USA INC is seeking a Housing Specialist to assist clients in finding permanent and supportive housing, while guiding them through applications and lease processes. The role emphasizes advocacy with landlords, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and detailed record-keeping.

Applicants should have strong customer service, excellent communication, and organizational skills, with experience in housing placement preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience.
Experience in housing placement services preferred.
Excellent customer service and conflict management skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct housing intake and housing assessment interviews for new residents and complete housing portions of plans.
Meet with clients regularly to guide housing search, determine needs and barriers, and make referrals.
Accompany clients to view apartments and advocate with landlords/brokers during move-in and lease process.
Keep up-to-date on housing subsidy programs and attend trainings from DHS and other agencies.
Record all housing documentation in the case management system in a timely, organized manner.
