Job summary

Many Mansions in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a Housing Navigator & Stabilization Coordinator to help residents secure and maintain stable housing through assessments, options, and guided move-in.

Qualifications

  • Experience in case management, housing navigation, or social services; ability to support residents in securing and sustaining stable housing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills to work effectively with diverse populations, including formerly homeless, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.
  • Organizational and documentation abilities, including maintaining detailed records, tracking program outcomes, and managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs, local community resources, and basic tenant rights and responsibilities, or willingness to learn these areas quickly.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and service providers in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry systems used for case notes and housing program tracking.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed, client-centered service delivery.
  • Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field; equivalent experience in housing or social services may also be considered.
  • Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations in a non-profit or community-based setting is strongly preferred

Many Mansions is a non-profit organization that provides well-managed, service-enriched affordable housing to low-income residents in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, with a particular focus on individuals and families who are very low-income, formerly homeless, seniors, veterans, or disabled. The organization owns and manages over 600 units of affordable housing and serves approximately 1,300 adults and 300 children. Residents benefit from on-site supportive services such as job training, case management, homework tutoring, supplemental food distributions, and college scholarships. Many Mansions aims to remove barriers to stable housing and help community members improve their lives through safe, decent homes and comprehensive support services. Role Description

The Housing Navigator & Stabilization Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Thousand Oaks, CA. This role supports individuals and families in securing and maintaining stable housing by conducting housing assessments, identifying appropriate housing options, and assisting residents through application, lease‑up, and move‑in processes. The coordinator collaborates with property management and service teams, provides ongoing case management, and connects residents to community resources such as employment services, benefits assistance, and health and social support programs. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, tracking outcomes, participating in interdisciplinary meetings, and responding promptly to resident concerns related to housing stability. The role also involves outreach to community partners, educating residents about tenant rights and responsibilities, and helping develop or facilitate stabilization workshops and supportive programming.
