Job summary

Vera French Mental Health Center seeks a Housing Manager to oversee day-to-day VF Housing operations. You will coordinate compliance with HUD/LIHTC and city regulations, handle tenant certifications, and support referrals while maintaining strong tenant relations.

You will lead documentation, lease administration, and coordination with the Executive Director of VF Housing Development to ensure excellent living environments and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Business, Bookkeeping, or equivalent required.
• 5 years LIHTC property management experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; reliable and organized.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, IFA, HUD and other regs.
• Complete TICs for move-ins, move-outs, and annuals.
• Maintain tenant files and assist with referrals/waiting list.
• Coordinate rental agreements, rules, utilities, and leases.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, the VF Housing Manager ensures that all properties are rented, in compliance, and properly maintained. With a strong focus on tenant satisfaction and operational excellence, the VF Housing Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating the day-to-day operations of the VF Housing management team and coordinates compliance and training activities with Executive Director of VF Housing Development.

What You'll Do.

• VF Housing Management. The VF Housing Manager ensures that the following are completed in compliance with Fair Housing, IFA, HUD and other regulatory requirements.
  • Tenant Income Certifications (TICs) completed in a timely manner for all move ins, move outs, and annual requirements.
  • Complete interim work required to prepare for upcoming certifications
  • Collaborate with VF Housing staff on referrals and waiting list/potential tenants. Assist with interviewing and verification of applicants.
  • Participate in rental agreement, rules, utilities confirmation, and leases.
• VF Housing Tenant Support. The VF Housing Manager ensures that the following are completed in an effort to provide VF Housing tenants with the very best living experience possible.
  • Answering VF Housing phones during office hours – after hours handled by maintenance
  • Providing courteous and helpful assistance to tenants as requested during office hours
  • Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with tenants
• VF Housing Compliance. The VF Housing Manager ensures that the following are completed to maintain compliance with IFA/HUD/HOME/LIHTC/MHEG
  • Complete Reports due to IFA before the deadline
  • Ensure housing units comply with city and state regulations, permits, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain require tenant files

What You'll Need

• 2-year degree in Business, Bookkeeping, or equivalent education/experience required
• 5 years of Low Income Housing Tax Credit Property Management experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, MS Word, MS Excel & property management software strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects
• Have a valid drivers license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
