Job summary

The Northern Kentucky Area Development District is seeking a Housing Inspector to perform inspections of residential properties for HQS/NSPIRE compliance, state and local codes, and zoning standards in the region. This full-time role reports to the Director of Housing.

Responsibilities include scheduling inspections, documenting conditions, reviewing rent reasonableness, and coordinating follow-up inspections.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the Housing Industry or inspections.
• Associate Degree preferred; or equivalent combined education/experience.
• Knowledge of HQS/NSPIRE, codes, and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Schedule daily inspections and notify landlords and tenants.
• Inspect residential buildings for HQS/NSPIRE compliance.
• Prepare inspection checklists and documentation.
• Maintain records and correspondence about inspections.
• Conduct pre-lease and re-inspections; assess housing conditions.
• Advise owners on repairs and track corrective actions.
• Verify repairs meet policy and regulations.
• Assist in rent reasonableness reviews.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.
