Job summary

EBRPHA is seeking a Housing Inspector to perform HUD inspections on residences used for HUD programs including VASH, HCV, and OCD. The role requires travel to residents' dwellings and coordination with landlords to ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in construction inspection or remodeling and will complete inspection paperwork for supervisor review while adhering to HUD guidelines. This position reports to the Director of HQS Compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Housing Inspector performs the required Housing and Urban Development (HUD) inspections on all residences utilized including Veteran's Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), and Office of Community Development (OCD).

Essential functions:

• Inspects multi-family and single-family residences under HUD guidelines to determine feasibility for occupancy
• Inspects the physical conditions and structures of individual properties and units
• Completes all required paperwork related to inspections for the review/approval of supervisor Investigates assigned non-compliance complaints
• Communicates and assists landlords/owners, as needed

Supervisory responsibilities:

• N/A

Work environment

• Mostly indoors with the exception of traveling to residents’ dwellings
• Frequent interactions with residents and landlords

Physical demands

• Mobility and flexibility to walk, bend, kneel, lift, and reach to perform above duties as stated

Travel required

• Must poses a valid driver’s license
• Travel required
