Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Inspections Support for the Division of Code Enforcement – Housing Quality Standards Unit (DCE-HQS) within HPD. You will monitor HQS inspections, track scheduling and re-inspections, and coordinate with tenants, property owners, managers, and HPD divisions to ensure timely, accurate results.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, customer service, and office software skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in community work or related duties at least 2 years.
• Grant-funded position; 2-year limit.
• Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor HQS inspections and re-inspections for subsidized apartments.
• Oversee the tracking of inspections, cases, failures, and re-inspections.
• Review and maintain inspection records in HPDInfo, Emphasys Elite, and other databases.
• Prepare, review, and analyze inspection reports and data to identify delays and trends.
• Communicate with tenants, property owners, landlords, and agents regarding scheduling and deficiencies.
• Coordinate with HPD divisions to resolve inspection issues.
• Monitor outstanding assignments and address scheduling delays.
• Respond to inquiries from tenants, landlords, and program representatives.
• Assist with training and supervise clerical staff when assigned.
• Assist HQS Coordinator and Director with special projects.
