Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting a Housing Front Door Officer, working on behalf of Braintree District Council. You will be the first point of contact for customers accessing Housing Operations, handling triage, reception duties and signposting to Housing Options, Temporary Accommodation, Benefits, and Social Care.

You will also support administrative and statutory processes to ensure customers are directed quickly to the appropriate housing pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, homelessness, customer service or local authority setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls via triage duty line and signpost to Housing Options, Temporary Accommodation, Benefits, Social Care and outreach.
• Handle walk-ins at reception and direct customers to appropriate housing pathways.
• Record presenting issues to support decision-making by assessment officers and respond to queries via email/phone.
