Job summary

The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians is seeking a Housing Director to lead the Housing Department, directing operations, grant management, housing development, and compliance with NAHASDA.

The role requires strategic planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and collaboration with tribal partners. The position is full-time with benefits and onsite work, with regional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in housing management, public administration, community development, urban planning, or a closely related field is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in housing, community development, or related program administration with a Tribal, public, or private agency.
• Experience working with housing programs, grants, or community development initiatives, including compliance and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize department records.
• Create and complete data collection; ensure goals and objectives are met through data gathering.
• Maintain relations with office staff, Tribal Members, Housing Boards, and Tribal Council.
• Regional travel for work is required.
• Collaborate with tribal, state, and federal partners to coordinate grants and events.
• Submit reports and respond to tribal, local, and state grant information needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate strategies to comply with housing programs/grants (e.g., smoke-free, drug-free).
• Respect Native American history and culture.
• Abide by PRCI policies and structure.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Board of Commissioners.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in housing management, public administration, community development, urban planning, or a closely related field

Equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling at least three (3) additional years
