Job summary

HRI Properties in New Orleans seeks a Certification Specialist to manage applicant files for move-in, conduct household interviews, and ensure data accuracy across applications, background screenings, and third-party verifications. You will maintain Yardi/Elite records, oversee recertifications and interim verifications, coordinate with maintenance, and support leasing staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, and HUD programs is a plus.
• Compliance certifications such as COS or HCCP are preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work extended hours.
• Self-starter with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Process all recertifications and interims by conducting household interviews and documenting data.
• Obtain third-party verifications and track responses.
• Prepare files for lease and certification signing.
• Begin processing recertifications 120 days before the effective date.
• Send annual recertification notices and follow up until completion.
• Ensure recertifications are completed at least 30 days before lease expiration.
• Maintain all files, digital and paper.
• Maintain transfer waiting lists and eviction tracker.
• Track unit inspections in Yardi and Elite.
• Assist property staff with answering phone lines.
• Create work orders for maintenance issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
