Job summary

Insight Housing is seeking a Housing Navigator to support unhoused individuals in Berkeley, Albany, and surrounding areas. You will perform housing assessments, connect clients to emergency and long-term housing options, and document progress in HMIS.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of direct service experience, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication skills; familiarity with housing retention and Harm Reduction is a plus.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid training required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with homelessness services is a plus.
• Familiarity with HMIS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and engagement to unhoused individuals in community settings.
• Conduct home visits to participants who are housed.
• Assist clients with meeting basic needs (food, shelter, health care, IDs).
• Complete CES assessments and housing stability plans.
• Enter case notes and maintain documentation monthly.
• Carry a caseload of 10–15 high-need participants.
• Build relationships with landlords for housing options.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly program reports.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager and City staff.
• Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.
• Drive to various sites and document mileage as required.
