The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of HOUSING CASE MANAGER (Confidential)* to fill one (1) vacancy in the Department of Housing and Human Services. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing and conducting housing case management, completing individual service plans, counseling, crisis intervention, resources referral, and case management to formerly homeless individuals and families. This position may include weekend hours to address emergency issues.
Housing Case Manager, under general supervision, to conduct mobile outreach and provide intake and assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, resource referral, case management and assistance with obtaining housing, developing life skills/income, and achieving greater self-determination to homeless individuals and families on the streets, in service venues and other locations where they can be found in the City of Riverside; or to a pre-selected caseload of applicants and/or recipients.
*Actual Classification: Lead Outreach Worker (C). Please refer to the Lead Outreach Worker (C) job description for more clarification.
Education: Equivalent to an Associate Degree (60 semester units) from an accredited college or university with major work in education, sociology, or a related field.
Experience: Three years of full time experience as an Outreach Worker, Case Manager, or in performing client directed services in either a social services or mental health agency. Two years' experience may substitute for the education requirements on a year for year basis.
Possession of an appropriate, valid, Class "C" California Motor Vehicle Operator's License, and reliable transportation.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends, and provide services to project clients at numerous locations, including but not limited to, community parks and recreational centers, School District campuses, and other locations as required.
