Requirements include Maryland bar admission or eligibility, a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, strong legal research and writing skills, and the ability to travel in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in Maryland or eligible for admission; out-of-state graduates must take the next bar exam.
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• Knowledge of civil law, procedures, and rules of evidence.
• Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally in Maryland.
• Westlaw Edge or similar research software preferred.
• 1–3 years post-bar experience preferred; not required.

Responsibilities

• Screen clients for case acceptance and referrals.
• Represent clients in Baltimore County District and Circuit Courts.
• Litigate housing matters through initial intake to representation.
• Conduct client interviews and factual investigations.
• Perform legal research and advise clients on options.
• Draft pleadings and manage case files in Legal Server.
• Prepare cases for negotiations, hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Participate in trainings and housing-focused collaborations.
• Engage in community outreach as appropriate.
