Job summary

BRC, Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc., seeks a full-time Housing Case Manager in New York to coordinate client housing services and entitlement supports. You will meet clients regularly, maintain accurate housing records, and coordinate moves with landlords and agencies to ensure successful placements.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, provide safety first aid when needed, and advance housing retention after placement while supporting clients' health and well-being.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience with homelessness and securing entitlements and housing.
  • Strong writing, communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • CPR training or willingness to certify.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of assigned case load and meet with clients regularly.
  • Ensure clinical files and reports are complete and up to date.
  • Engage clients in a client-centered approach and provide referrals for housing needs.
  • Secure entitlements and coordinate moves with landlords and agencies.
  • Liaise with DHS and other providers to facilitate housing processes.
  • Provide housing retention services after placement.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
