Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a Houseperson/Shuttle Driver to maintain public areas and assist with basic housekeeping while also transporting guests to local attractions. Flex scheduling is possible to accommodate guest needs.

The role requires a valid driver's license, being at least 21 years old, and a strong focus on guest service and safety. You will work as part of a team to ensure a tidy, welcoming environment for guests.

  • Knowledge of local roads and routes to area attractions.
  • Able to handle problems in the workplace and maintain guest service.
  • Readily available and approachable for guests while delivering service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic housekeeping duties as needed (linens, towels, restocking).

Description

As a Houseperson/Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas of the hotel and be a key person of reference for guests through unloading and loading luggage and driving them to local points of interest.

This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

  • Upkeep the public areas
  • Assisting with Housekeeping as much as needed by providing basic housekeeping duties (changing the sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging the room after guest check out)
  • Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
  • Recognize and report potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Maintaining shelf organization in the storerooms and replenishing supplies as needed
  • Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and more in public areas such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms
  • Delivering special request items such as cribs to guest rooms
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be 21 years of age
  • Maintain vehicle mileage log at the beginning and end of each trip indicating mileage, time, name, and date
  • Ensure vans are clean and all proper vehicle maintenance records are current
  • Report all accidents and/or traffic violations immediately
  • Perform vehicle inspection prior to each trip and upon return to the hotel

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
