Job description

A Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated areas of the hotel and responding to guest requests, contributing to the hotel's goal of delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring financial profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Stock linen closets with amenities and supplies for room attendants; may include delivering supplies directly to room attendants.
2. Empty carts of soiled linen and trash from rooms.
3. Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
4. Vacuum, sweep, and mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
5. Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
6. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
7. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate effectively in English. Self-motivated with a professional appearance and manner. Good communication skills with guests. Willing to assist co-workers and be a team player. Physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods, with lifting up to 100 lbs. Ability to understand and follow supervisor instructions.
