Job summary

Seneca Gaming Corporation seeks a housekeeping/stock room associate to stock central storage, manage guest-room supplies, and assist with cleaning tasks. You will inventory linens, transport items to the laundry vendor, and maintain public areas to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Meet attendance guidelines and follow company policies.
• Complete required training programs within nine months of employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stock central storage facility, work centers and guest room attendant's carts with appropriate quantities of supplies. Conduct inventories as appropriate.


• Collect and inventory dirty linens removed from guest rooms and transports to designated area for delivery to laundry vendor. Receive and inventory cleaned linens from vendor.


• Maintain cleanliness in common/public areas of the hotel and assists with heavy cleaning in guest rooms as needed.


• Deliver special request items (pillows, refrigerators, roll-away beds, etc.) to guest rooms as needed.


• Operate floor-cleaning equipment such as carpet scrubbers and vacuums.


• Visually inspect and perform routing service maintenance on light cleaning equipment.


• Assist other departmental personnel as needed.


• Promote a positive public/employee relation at all times.


• Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.


• Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.


• Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.


• Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.


• Attend all necessary meetings.


• Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

• Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Previous stock room and/or commercial cleaning experience or related experience preferred.


• Must possess basic mathematical skills necessary for conducting inventories and counting linens.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability

• Must possess excellent communication skills.


• Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

• Position requires standing and walking 100% of the time.


• Requires bending, lifting and carrying supplies up to twenty-five (25) pounds 80% of the time. With assistance, required to push or pull carts and/or furniture weighing several hundred pounds.


• Adequate manual dexterity to operate office equipment.


• Must be able to effectively understand and communicate to candidates and employees.


• Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.


• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.

Salary

Salary Starting Rate: $16.00 Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
