Job summary

Hawks Cay Resort in Marathon, Florida, is seeking a Houseperson to maintain clean restrooms, hallways, foyers, and elevator areas while supporting guest services. You will vacuum, dust, polish, move furniture as needed, and respond to guest inquiries with courtesy and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in hotel housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use cleaning equipment properly.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean restrooms, hallways, foyers, and elevators.
• Vacuum, dust, polish, and straighten furniture and decor.
• Handle waste removal and restock amenities for attendants.
• Turn mattresses and assist in moving furniture as needed by supervisor.
• Assist guests with directions and information while maintaining hotel standards.

Job description

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and polishing the restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Skills

• Thoroughly clean restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators which includes vacuuming, dusting, polishing, straightening furniture and decor, cleaning/sanitizing surfaces and waste removal.
• Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash from guest rooms.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
• Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
• Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants.
• Turn mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
• Respond to guest questions and provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
• Provide instruction/guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
• Support the department in any area that will maintain the building and guest service to hotel standards.
• Assist shampooers with the relocation of furniture.
• Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to the Safety/Security department.
• Must be ready to step in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Performs special assignments and projects as requested.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED
• Experience working in a hotel is preferable.
