Job summary

Hotel Saint Augustine, part of Bunkhouse Hotels, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily housekeeping operations, organize staff duties, and maintain guestroom quality. You will work with the operations team to deliver exceptional guest experiences in our Montrose district property.

Responsibilities include inspecting rooms and public areas, coordinating with Front Office and Engineering, training staff, managing workloads, and enforcing safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to perform essential physical functions (lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs).

The Role:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and execution of daily housekeeping operations, including but not limited to organizing colleagues’ duties, managing schedules, inspecting guest rooms, and creating and maintaining operational checklists. This role also handles guest concerns, provides training, coaching, and development to housekeeping colleagues, and performs other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct Room Attendants, Housepersons, Public Area Attendants, and Housekeeping Inspectors to ensure departmental standards are consistently achieved.
• Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
• Assign and adjust daily workloads based on occupancy levels, arrivals, departures, stayovers, VIPs, and operational priorities.
• Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to ensure timely room availability and prompt resolution of maintenance concerns.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through ongoing feedback, performance management, and hands‑on support.
• Ensure service standards are maintained by identifying deficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and following up on improvement plans.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.
• Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and overall performance to maximize operational efficiency and accountability.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, sanitation guidelines, and OSHA standards.
• Support daily operations by assisting with room inspections, public area inspections, and housekeeping tasks as business needs require.
• Lead daily shift briefings and communicate operational priorities, occupancy levels, VIP arrivals, and service expectations.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation (e.g., lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds; standing and walking for extended periods; bending, reaching, and other physical movements as required).
• Flexible schedule, including availability for AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Experience Preferred:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Two (2) years of related experience in the hospitality or service industry preferred.
• One (1) year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
