Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant for a full-time day shift from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Friday through Tuesday. Starting wage is $18.00-$20.00/hour, DOE, with a thorough orientation and ongoing training at our Alternatives Training Center.

The role includes supervising inmate workers, managing laundry, restocking supplies, sewing repairs, and performing a wide range of cleaning tasks. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401k plan, PTO

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background checks.
• Valid Montana driver’s license.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Inmate Workers, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
• Handle facility laundry, including resident uniforms, rags, towels, bedding, and other items.
• Restock chemicals, paper products, rags, and linens; distribute hygiene supplies to residents.
• Sew and repair drapes, clothing, and bedspreads; reupholster as needed.
• Perform various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures; gather and dispose of waste.
• Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
• Make supply packs for departments, deliver linens, and distribute emergency supplies.
• Keep records of linen distribution and check linen supplies.
