Job summary

Sea Island Company is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily operations for 35 units on Sea Island. You will interview candidates, schedule weekly shifts, ensure vehicle compliance, train staff, audit performance, monitor linen inventory, and uphold standards of cleanliness and guest service.

Responsibilities include inspections, reporting, and fostering a safe, efficient workplace while supporting department goals and maintaining knowledge of Sea Island amenities for

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising housekeeping staff and coordinating daily tasks.
  • Ability to interview candidates, train and evaluate performance.
  • Familiarity with linen management, inventories and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in interviewing candidate for open positions.
  • Assist establishing housekeeping weekly staff schedules.
  • Ensure all housekeeping employees driving a company vehicle have been per-approved by Human Resources.
  • Ensure all housekeeping employees driving a company vehicle have Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) order and reviewed by Human Resources.
  • Responsible for monitoring the up keep of company vehicle.
  • Train and audit staff’s telephone etiquette.
  • Conduct a kick off (DSQ) meeting every morning.
  • Supervise Housekeeping staff in the absence of the manager.
  • Support and assist Housekeeping in performing cleaning services for special projects and off-sight areas.
  • Assist in training and development of new and present employees in and safe and proper handling, use and application of Housekeeping equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Assist with performance evaluations & reviews for department staff.
  • Maintain accurate linen inventory of rooms and linen closets and ensure that all linens are delivered and picked up on time.
  • Supervise and assist with deep cleaning.
  • Responsible for overseeing 35 units for inspections and service in a timely manner ensuring rooms are ready by check in time.
  • Inspect cleanliness of all rooms to ensure company standards.
  • Maintain written inspection reports of all rooms.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to subordinate concerning job performance.
  • Assist in the creation, planning and implementation of department programs, procedures and employee goals.
  • Responsible for one on one meeting with employees to review job and goals performance.
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on job performance.
  • Responsible for updating the Office Coordinator on room status.
  • Maintain accurate guest information in the AS400 system.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up to date Task Inventory and Breakdowns per position.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area.
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members.
  • Ensure all subordinates are in accordance with grooming standards and dress code policies on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all lost and found items are handled according to policy.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining recognition programs.
  • Assist the department in reaching financial goals.
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form and follow-up on issues.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
  • Uphold departmental standards of quality/timing and compliance with policies.
  • Report equipment problems and safety hazards to supervisor immediately.
  • Attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute improvement ideas.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
