Job summary

Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN is seeking a Front Office/Housekeeping Shift Supervisor to lead the team on evening shifts after managers depart. You’ll maintain a positive mood, review room make-ups, turnovers, and guest requests while ensuring 5-star standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, hospitality experience, and basic computer skills in Outlook, Word and Excel. You will work weekends and holidays as scheduled and partner with the front desk to coordinate guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day reports for the team and clarify reports as needed.
• Hold lineups covering guest rooms, turnovers, make-ups, and check-ins.
• Coordinate in-room guest requests and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Review groups in house and ensure needs are met.
• Inspect common areas daily and supervise room make-ups and turnovers.
• Load stocker cart with daily supplies and assist with cleaning check-out / turndown rooms.
• Assist with quarterly inventories and complete mid/end-year reviews.

The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership on a daily basis and to lead the team some nights after Managers have departed. Maintain a positive attitude around all team members, setting the mood for that shift. To inspect make-ups turn downs and cleaned rooms to make sure that the standards have been met.

Pay Range: $22.00–$25.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Run the day-to-day reports for the team and be able to clarify reports, as needed
• Hold lineups with your team covering the # of guest rooms currently occupied, # of arrival rooms, and departure rooms, # of turnovers, make-ups, and check in’s / turnovers
• Coordinate in-room guest requests
• Review groups currently in house and their agenda to ensure all needs are met
• Inspecting common areas on a daily basis
• Oversee completion of all room make-ups, turnovers, and turndowns perform final inspections after rooms have been cleaned
• Load stocker cart with daily supplies such as sheets, towels, toilet paper, amenities, glasses, coffee cups, hangers
• Assist in cleaning check out, stay-over, or turndown rooms as necessary to assist the team
• Assist with quarterly inventories as necessary
• Write and disseminate all Mid-Year and End of Year reviews to all team members
• Working all holidays and weekends as scheduled

Must comply with all company policies and procedures. To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required. Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow up on team member status of rooms/ assignments
• Guide housekeepers to maintain 5-star standards for all rooms
• Be a positive motivator to the team
• Coach and counsel team members as necessary, including written documentation if applicable
• Complete 45-day reviews for all new hires as well as mid, and end-of-year reviews, as needed
• Ensure Housekeepers understand their room assignments, and rooms are completed promptly
• Ensure efficiency by coordinating housekeeper's schedules based on needs
• Work closely with the front desk on arrivals and changes
• Basic understanding of labor numbers
• Must be available to work both AM and PM shifts

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Hospitality experience or equivalent preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Basic computer knowledge
• Must have a working understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic knowledge and understanding of math

REASONING ABILITY

• Must be able to understand scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and stock
• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand for long periods

• Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
