Job summary

Cantex Livingston, TX seeks a Housekeeping Director to lead the daily cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of patient rooms, public areas, dining spaces and offices. You will supervise, plan, and ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment in alignment with Cantex procedures.

As a working Director, you will recruit, train, evaluate staff, schedule workloads, manage inventories, monitor budgets, and enforce safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Prior experience in either a long-term care setting or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Minimum of one-year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise housekeeping activities at the Facility.
• Establish a work log or checklist for daily, weekly, or monthly housekeeping tasks.
• Expected to be a working Director in the department performing direct housekeeping tasks.
• Establish and maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is working.
• Maintains housekeeping supply inventory within budget and to provide spend-down sheets to Administrator every Friday.
• Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company standards.
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
• Periodically assess and make recommendations for equipment replacement and repair.
• Assists in recruitment, selection, and training of the housekeeping aides as related to their job duties.
• Schedule departmental working hours, personnel, and assignments.
• Complete employee evaluations on either an annual basis or post probationary period; as well as provide counsel or disciplinary action when appropriate.
• Serves on various committees as requested by Administrator.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
